Dewpond Restoration 2
We will continue restoring the old dewpond shown on local maps from the 1930s.
Another lovely day working on Wild Maple field on 31st August, this time restoring the old Dew Pond. Exciting to see the old cobbled paving slowly being revealed. 14 of us dug and shovelled and carried turf and soil away from the ever widening area, and then relaxed on the bank enjoyed a well earned picnic. As we ate a large dragonfly flew over inspecting our work, clearly ready to move in whenever it’s ready!
We will meet again on the field on Wednesday 13th September at 10.30am where we will continue the very exciting job of restoring the dewpond.

Dewpond Restoration
We will be making a start restoring the old dewpond shown on local maps from the 1930s.
After our hugely successful Wild Thistle Picnic, where 19 of us turned out in the gentle sunshine to pull up vigorous plants and then enjoy food together, we now have a date for our next work party.
We will meet again on the field on Thursday 31st August at 10.30am where we will work on the very exciting job of restoring the dewpond.

Wild Thistle Picnic
Wilder Wirksworth is organising a work party with picnic for the Wild Maple field. This invasive weed pull is to help control creeping thistle, ragwort and nettle. It is an opportunity for people to view the field and its plants.
Bring heavy duty gardening gloves.
Bring a picnic to enjoy after pulling out the weeds.
Earth Day Gathering
Wilder Wirksworth warmly invites all supporters of our recent successful Crowdfunder to come along for a picnic and celebration of both Earth Day and the purchase of the field.
